Tara Jambhorkar, in a modest rented space in Narayan Peth, the institution steadily grew and was officially registered in 1962 as Sanskrit Vidya Mandir. The institution is committed to providing quality education and has expanded its offerings over the years, now operating across five government-recognised divisions:

History of Sanskrit Vidya Mandir

In 1966, the institution acquired Plot No. 66 in Sahakarnagar and established its preschool and primary school. The 1st and 2nd grade classes began in 1967-68. By 1968, the government granted an additional 6,000 square feet of land, enabling the construction of a new school building, which was inaugurated in 1974. By 1980, classes up to the 10th grade were introduced, and government recognition for the 8th to 10th standards was granted in 1989. Today, the institution serves over 1,500 students.

In the year 2000, the institution decided to establish a sports complex. After obtaining the necessary permissions, the foundation stone for the complex was laid on December 22, 2001. The sports complex was inaugurated on January 22, 2002, marking another milestone in the institution's growth.

Education

Pre-Primary School

The Abhinav Balak Mandir is the institution's Sanskrit-based preschool division. Established to lay a strong foundation for young minds, the preschool focuses on early childhood education rooted in Sanskrit values and traditions, preparing children for the next steps in their educational journey.

Primary School

The Vidya-Vikas-Vidyalaya division offers primary education up to the 5th grade. The primary school aims to build a strong academic foundation while promoting holistic development. With over 1,500 students currently enrolled, the school emphasises academic excellence, discipline, and the development of both cognitive and social skills in a nurturing environment.

Secondary School

The Vidya-Vikas-Vidyalaya-Prashala division offers education for the 6th to 10th grade. By 1980, the institution introduced classes for 8th to 10th grade, and in 1989, the school gained official recognition for these classes. The secondary school focuses on providing students with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in their future educational and professional endeavours.
